March Seminar: “Square Foot Gardening”

    Please join us for a Master Gardener presentation on Square Foot Gardening on Saturday, March 14, at 10 a.m. here at Plantscape Nursery.  U of I Extension Master Gardener Herb Klickner will present the seminar on square foot gardening and\ share his years of square foot gardening experience with a focus on spring and summer gardens.  Learn how to construct a raised square foot garden bed, how to make your own healthy soil, how to make efficient/productive use of limited space, plants and activities for the spring and summer seasons, and what you can grow using the square foot gardening technique.

April Seminar: “Bluebirds”

Now is the time to put up nest boxes to attract a breeding pair of beautiful Eastern bluebirds. You can find out how to encourage them to nest in your yard by attending an educational seminar on bluebirds presented by Karen Frailey of the Shawnee Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society on Saturday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. here at Plantscape. She will discuss how to establish nesting sites for bluebirds by providing bluebird boxes or establishing a bluebird trail, their natural history, habitat, migration, nesting behavior, food and feeders they prefer, and important facts about this beautiful bird.  A PowerPoint presentation will be presented, handouts will be provided, and a question-and-answer session will be available.
