June Seminar: “Native Pollinators: Your Yard Can Make a Difference”

Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Presented by Chris Lueking,

U of I Extension Educator

You can help conserve pollinator populations and learn how to create a “pollinator pocket” in your yard by attending a free seminar “Native Pollinators” presented by Chris Lueking, University of Illinois Extension Horticulture and Natural Resources Educator, on Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. here at Plantscape. Chris has her own cut flower business and experience with high tunnel growing and community gardens as well as being an extension educator.  She will discuss native and annual plants for blooms throughout the seasons including plants that attract our native pollinators, techniques to attract beneficial insects to help eliminate garden pests, host plants and nectar plants, which pollinators like certain shapes of flowers, the number of plants to grow depending on the pollinator you wish to attract and more.  Handouts with lists of plants will be available.

Register for this free seminar by calling 618-942-4865 or email us at plantscape@mediacombb.net as class size is limited. Participants can register at the seminar for free plants, seeds, and a “bee hotel” to attract native pollinators. Join us for this very informative and educational presentation!
